COMMUNITY CROSS COUNTRY SKIING

                               DONATIONS

Thanks to a large grant for the equipment, we were able to purchase a used

snowmobile, trailer, and groomer.  We estimate that we need $2000 for a

season of grooming.   We suggest contributions of $50 per skier.  We arrived

at this amount based on:

• Expectations -- 40 community members contributing $50 each seems reasonable.
• Market pricing -- $50 is at least $100 less than season passes at commercial XC areas.
• Quality -- we are going to do our best, but don't expect us to match the commercial resorts with their full time staff and permanent facilities.

Nobody will enforce donations; if we find someone on the trail system who has

yet to donate, nobody will kick them off.   But, keep in mind that all donations

will go back into the project, so more donations ensure more frequent grooming

and better skiing.   If you don't feel you will ski there enough to justify

a $50 contribution, consider making suitable donations based on the number of

times you ski there, and the quality of your experience.

Your contributions to this effort are not tax deductible.  This is a community

effort, but it is not being managed under the auspices of a non profit organization.

If it works over the 2001/2002 season, we will explore establishing a non profit

operation and operating under a formal structure next year.
